Dunk Of The Week....Brought to You By Shaquille Johnson...Thank you Based Shaquille

Shaquille Johnson is a strong combo-forward that is one of the most explosive jumpers in the country and he excels in transition. He is fearless when attacking the basket and is able to finish through contact. He understands his strengths and does a nice job of playing within his capabilities. He rebounds his position well and he is slowly improving his range from the perimeter. He has the potential to be an outstanding defender when he puts his mind to it and, because of his leaping ability, is able to contests shots even when giving a cushion.

Weaknesses: Johnson is still developing away from the basket. He is inconsistent shooting the ball from the perimeter and also needs to improve his ball handling and passing skills. At 6-4 his size will scare off a lot of coaches at the mid-plus to high major minus level if he doesn't improve in the above areas.

Bottom Line: Johnson is still a 'tweener that is more power forward than small forward. In the right system he could be an effect fourth perimeter player, but to reach his full potential he needs to focus his skill development time to improving his overall perimeter game. If he is able to play on the wing and shoot the ball with some consistency he will deserve some close scrutiny form the high majors.

Notes Committed to Auburn in Feb. 2011...
